Project Coordinator

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

Vector Security’s National Accounts Division is seeking a Project Coordinator responsible for providing support to the Project Management Staff to ensure that our projects of commercial Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm, Access Control, and Video systems installations are completed as scheduled. This position will be in our Manassas, VA location.

This position reports to: Manager of Project Support

Project Coordinator responsibilities include:
Assist Project Managers (PMs) in creating bid submittals for prospective and current customers.
Maintain basic working knowledge of Security Systems and Components, Fire Systems and Components, Access Control Systems and Components and CCTV Systems and Components.
Interpret simple schematics for equipment installation.
Interpret blueprint design to create bid specifications and equipment counts.
Specify and order proper equipment for each installation and ensure that the equipment is received to meet installation schedule.
Coordinate System programming for proper panel operation.
Assist PMs in obtaining accurate labor estimates for bid submittals.
Assist the PMs in creating a weekly progress report in regard to project status.
Assist the PMs in creating AutoCAD designs for installation specifications.
Perform panel downloads as required.
Assemble and distribute installation documents as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Ability to work with AutoCAD to create installation specifications for Fire, Security, Access Control and Camera system designs.
Ability to research Fire Alarm design by referencing National and Local code books. Ability to work in a “multi-task” environment in terms of handling more than one project at a time.
Ability to work with peers and be a team player.
Ability to work with Microsoft office software.
Possess good time management skills and ability to be proactive.
Possess good communication and organization skills.
Ability to perform limited travel.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods of time, ability to hear phone conversations, effectively communicate verbally and in writing using a keyboard, possess manual dexterity and ability for manipulating of fingers, hands and arms. Able to move around the office and access file cabinets, copiers, fax machine; to sit, stand and bend/stoop to file material in drawers.
