Nurse Recruiter
The Position:
City of Hope’s Human Resources Department is seeking an RN-licensed healthcare professional with nursing or nursing recruitment experience to join its recruitment team as the recruiter for nursing professionals. The role involves ongoing networking activity in the nursing community both within and outside City of Hope, including cultivating employment prospects, aligning City of Hope with appropriate nurse training facilities and programs, and representing City of Hope at nursing events. This is a position with responsibility for handling a broad range of employment functions, such as recruitment, staffing, screening, interviewing & selecting candidates for nursing positions. Additionally, the candidate selected for this role will conduct external marketing for City of Hope nursing employment opportunities through advertising placement and attendance at career fairs, as well as participate in internal activities aimed at strong retention of existing nursing staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and evaluates recruitment plans for Nursing positions and other difficult-to-fill patient care services department positions, including identifying qualifying criteria and advertising strategies, as well as researching and analyzing data concerning market conditions and applicant pools.
- Participates in career days, job fairs and school-based recruitment opportunities.
- Prepares advertising copy and submits advertisements to publications and other recruitment posting locations.
- Screens and ranks resumes, and maintains application files.
- Interviews qualified applicants and arranges department interviews.
- Develops, within established salary ranges, hiring-in rates based on candidate qualifications and salary, internal equity, market conditions and department funding considerations.
- Makes job offers to candidates selected by departments and negotiates salaries.
- Administers new hire procedures, including checking references, pre-employment screening, licensure verification, submitting background investigations, developing compensation package, and extending offers to selected candidates and assuring candidates are scheduled for hospital as well as patient care orientation programs.
- Coordinates recognition events for clinical staff, and proactively participates in nurse recruitment and retention efforts; collects employment and termination data and produces monthly Employment report for recruitment, retention and staffing effectiveness purposes.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Qualifications Sought:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Nursing (BSN) is ideal, however candidates with relevant experience and Associate of Arts Degree will be considered as well
- Three years experience as a patient care nurse, nurse administrator, or related patient-care position OR Five years experience in recruitment, with at least three years experience in healthcare/nursing recruitment
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in Oncology very helpful, but not required.
