Caliber, an ICF International company has recently been awarded the National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC) project. We seek an Executive Director for the NCCIC project within the Child Care/Work Life line of business. NCCIC is a national information clearinghouse and technical assistance (TA) center with the primary purpose of providing comprehensive child care information resources and technical assistance services to Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Grantees and other early care and education stakeholders. In addition to CCDF Grantees (States, Tribes and Tribal Organizations, and Territories), users of NCCIC services include ACF’s ten Regional Offices, the CCB staff, other Federal agencies, local governments, child care resource and referral agencies, child care organizations, child care providers, colleges and universities, parents, and members of the General Public. NCCIC is funded by the Child Care Bureau (CCB), Administration on Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Executive Director is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the NCCIC project. This includes the management of regionally-aligned field-based TA experts and central office library specialists, information specialists, publications and web support staff. The Director will serve as the principal liaison with the Child Care Bureau, TA partners and the national child care community.

REQUIREMENTS
A Master’s Degree in early childhood or a related field, 10+ years of experience within the early care and education field, significant knowledge of key initiatives such as Good Start, Grow Smart, quality rating systems, subsidy administration, licensing, and experience leading large virtual teams is preferred. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the CCB and ACF. Experience working in government contracting is a plus. The candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal, collaborative, managerial, and written communication skills; demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced team environment; show commitment to accuracy and detail; be attentive to timelines; and be able to plan and manage multiple, demanding tasks under critical timeframes. The candidate must be able to facilitate linkages between NCCIC and members of the CCB-sponsored Child Care Technical Assistance Network (CCTAN). Providing programmatic planning and support for the annual Child Care State Administrators meeting and the 10 Regional Office Child Care meetings is another important responsibility of this position. We are looking for a candidate who is visionary, understands the issues in the Child Care field, stays abreast of the political and economic factors that influence the child care workforce, and is able to establish connections with the national leaders in the field.
