The HR Consultant serves as a primary contact point for internal customers. Under limited supervision, receiving general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. Responsible for the administration of HR programs, policies and procedures. Supports managers and employees with HR issues and responds to routine and non-routine questions. Gains understanding of key business issues within areas supported and works to develop HR solutions. Ensures HR policies and programs are implemented in an equitable and consistent manner. Provides accurate and timely reporting and analyses to management on basic HR data. Conducts training programs and workshops for employees. May require 25- 50% travel.


Qualified candidates must demonstrate:
* Ability to work with management to ensure HR programs, policies and procedures are applied and interpreted consistently
* Proven facilitation skills, both in group process and training
* Excellent employee relations skills with the ability to coach and mentor managers and employees by providing developmental feedback
* Superior analytical/problem solving skills
* Ability to conducts employee training sessions/workshops covering a variety of HR topics
* Participation in HR projects and initiatives

Qualified candidates must possess:
* Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field
* Minimum three to five years experience in Human Resources
* Prior management experience a plus

This position can be based out of Madison, Wisconsin or Urbandale, Iowa.

May consider 3 plus years Progressive claims management experience in lieu of demonstrated HR experience.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time. Some travel will include travel outside of Wisconsin and Iowa.At Progressive, status quo won't cut it.
