General Counsel, GE Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: LegalResponsibilities: Key responsibilities include:
Lead the legal group supporting the business and coordinate the delivery of proactive and strategic legal services to the business with a primary focus on the delivery of commercial support, although the counsel will need to be knowledgeable on a wide range of legal subjects, with the ability to spot issues and bring in specialists as needed
Manage, develop and retain a top performing legal team
Take a leading role with respect to government relations activities, including contact with high-ranking government officials, development of lobbying and other strategies key to success of the Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging business
Drive cross-business, global and regional synergies to maximize effectiveness of the global GE Healthcare legal team
Structure and negotiate complex transactions and oversee outside counsel
In conjunction with the Senior Counsel for Litigation, coordinate management of litigation across the business region
Support Compliance Investigations and Compliance Projects
Lead GE Healthcare Compliance Review Boards for the business
Participate actively in business development activities affecting the regio
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * JD (law degree) from an accredited university
A minimum of ten years of general counsel or commercial legal experiences including experience with a well established law firm
Previous demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience providing strategic legal advice and leadership as a senior member of a management team
Prior experience using word processing and presentation software
Strong working knowledge of English language (oral and written)
Must be willing to take a drug test
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Waukesha,WIDesired: * Healthcare industry experience
Previous exposure to medical industry regulations (FDA, Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback)
Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
Outstanding leadership skills, leading a team with the ability to make on the spot risk calls
Superior negotiation and influencing skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (including our field sales force, Sr. leadership and our customers' senior leadership teams)
