Consultant-HR
This position provides comprehensive Human Resource support to a business unit or corporate function that may include (but is not limited to) recruiting, selection and staffing, employee and labor relations, job evaluation, training, compensation and benefits. The incumbent acts as a liaison between departments/divisions, all levels of line and staff management, the compensation and benefits department, legal counsel, and outside service providers. The position contributes to human resource program development, implementation and administration. Consults with management on personnel policy implementation and advises employees on subjects such as disciplinary action and performance problems.
Staffing and Recruiting/Compensation - Partners with managers to develop hiring strategies to fill open positions at all levels. Develops sourcing opportunities / contacts to support the company's commitment to a diverse workforce. Arranges and facilitates career fairs and recruiting events as needed. Analyzes compensation issues in accordance with compensation policy guidelines and works with managers on compensation decisions for new hires, promotions, salary adjustments and retaining employees. Proactively addresses compensation and organizational inconsistencies.
Employee Relations/Business Partner - Conducts internal investigations and consults and escalates them to Employee Relations team. Partners with management on performance issues, creation of Performance Improvement Plans and Corrective Action. Responds to compliance issues and participates in implementation of employee relations programs and initiatives.
Training/Facilitating - Delivers a wide variety of HR-related training to managers and employees on topics including (but not limited to): new hire orientation, civil treatment, sexual harassment, performance improvement, employee management skills, compensation, benefits, interviewing skills, etc.
Organizational Consulting - Partners with clients by attending staff meetings and presents topics of interest. Implements policies and procedures to impact business results.
Manages Regional Initiatives - Responsible for managing one or more of the following regional initiatives: recognition, retention, diversity, union awareness, etc.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
4 years of Human Resources related experience; including 2 years of employee relations experience.
Broad understanding of Human Resources including staffing, compensation, employee relations, organizational development, training, performance management and labor relations.
Strong presentation skills and ability to present ideas and training programs to all levels of the organization.
Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint). HRIS experience a plus.
Able to be proactive, prioritize work and handle multiple assignments in a timely manner ; project management experience preferred
Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and facilitation skills
