Assistant General Counsel

Business Unit: GE Commercial Finance, Capital SolutionsFunction: LegalResponsibilities: Serve as a member of the GE Franchise Finance Legal Department, with special emphasis on defaulted credits
Provide legal support to Special Serving for workouts, restructurings, collections, borrower and guarantor bankruptcies, collection litigation, and collateral recoveries
Serve as legal support to Capital Markets in connection with investor reporting and other second-day matters
Manage outside counsel retained to provide legal services to Special Servicing
Manage subpoena responses and requests for production of documents
Control legal spend by ensuring compliance with outside counsel policy
Manage and guide growth of parelegal and support staff
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Currently Licensed and practicing attorney
JD Degree
Minimum 3 years legal experience in real estate, real estate finance, and secured lending
Minimum of 5 years of experience in bankruptcy matters, and in handling loan workouts, restructures, and collections matters
Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced, team environment; organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and achieve objectives while working under pressure
Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
Unyielding commitment to the highest professional ethics
You must be willing to take a drug test
You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
