Database evaluation

DB design & optimization

Creation and Maintenance of schema

Configure the database, parameters etc
Â
Data sampling and profiling
Â
Data Model design
Â
Optimization during testing at the application and DB levels
Â
Performance Tuning
Â
Preventive maintenance
Â
Keep statistics up to date
Â
Monitor growth and respond when required
Â
Incident support
Â
Apply patches and upgrades
Â
Develop EstimatesRequirements/Qualifications:
Â
4+ years of database development experience (SQL)
Â
Excellent programming skills and extensive experience with Microsoft technology
Â
Excellent understanding of software architectures, MS Products, software and development lifecycle
Â
Broad knowledge base of technologies outside of area of expertise (e.g. Client Server Technologies, COM, ATL, Visual Basic, ADSI, Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory, Windows 2000 Services, Windows 2003 server; SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Data access mechanisms (ADO, RDO, ODBC))

Skilled with the latest Microsoft development tools and technologies
