Senior Plant Operator

SENIOR PLANT OPERATOR GRADE III (3 positions opened) This Senior Operator is a lead position that performs a variety of tasks associated with the operation, routine maintenance/repair and upkeep of an advance wastewater treatment system. Treatment processes include Microfiltration, Reverse Osmosis, UV Advanced Oxidation, Lime Saturation and Chlorination and a reclaimed water filtration system. This position serves as a lead in the monitoring and operations of all treatment facilities and related equipment and participation in plant facilities clean-up activities. This position also operates motor vehicles, electric forklifts, diesel forklifts, and other mobile equipment, and performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Other duties may be assigned as needed. This position is required to work a shift that includes part of the weekend and rotating shift as required. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and a Wastewater Operator's License, Grade III or higher, and a valid California driver's license. College level course work in Water, Wastewater, Chemistry, or Biology from an accredited school is desirable. The position also requires 7 years of plant operations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the operation and maintenance of the GWRS sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional industry-related certifications are preferred.
