Steel Fabrication Estimator in Bakersfield, CA:
SUMMARY :
The Estimator prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates, analysis of subcontractor bids, etc., for projects of medium size and complexity or for one particular discipline on large, complex projects. May interface with owner, A/E's and contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. This position requires 3-5 years of steel fabrication estimating experience.
REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE :
Must display flexibility and creativity to operate in a fast-paced work environment.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of steel fabrication (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.Minimum of five year’s construction management and/or craft supervision experience in construction.Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office 2000, and software literate in standard windows programs.Minimum 7 years supervisory experience, with advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.Educational and experience includes: Four-year degree preferred or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
