Roadway and Bridge Inspectors, Survey Crew

Thompson Engineering, a leading full service AE firm in Alabama has positions available in Mobile, AL for the Mobile area for roadway and bridge inspectors and survey crew members including rodman and instrument man positions.

Inspector - The position involves detailed inspections of all work performed and materials furnished for road and bridge construction. No inspection experience is required but inspection of materials, road and bridge construction, survey or construction engineering technology is preferred. HS Degree or equivalent required. A plus is ACI Level I, Alabama Concrete Technician in Alabama Roadway Technology certifications or civil engineering technology degree with a survey background. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Rodman – This position requires working in extreme weather conditions and assisting with survey teams. No prior experience is required but prior experience in outside job environment is helpful. HS Degree or equivalent required. Starting pay $8.00/hour with opportunity for advancement.

Instrument Man – This position involves working with survey instrumentation and tools and reporting. Candidates must have previous survey experience and Topcon and TDS data collection experience is preferred. HS degree or equivalent required. Starting pay $13.00 with opportunity for advancement.
