PROJECT MANAGER – RETAIL CONSTRUCTION

Lewis Retail Centers, a division of the Lewis Group of Companies, one of the nation’s largest privately-held real estate developers, is actively seeking an experienced PROJECT MANAGER for Retail Construction to join its expanding retail development group.

Lewis Retail Centers oversees the development and construction of one of the Inland Empires largest shopping center portfolios. The division has developed almost 4 million square feet of retail space that is home to some of the nation’s top retailers.

The PROJECT MANAGER, Retail Construction acts as Tenants advocate and interfaces with Lewis Construction Managers, Retail Property Management, and Retail Leasing Managers to proactively assist and monitor all activities and requirements associated with the Tenant’s occupancy of their suite.

Tenant related responsibilities include a thorough understanding of Tenant requirements, assisting tenants with the coordination of their plans and city permitting processes. Coordination of Landlord’s Work as it applies to the Tenant’s suite, review and approval of Tenant construction drawings, review and approval of Tenant sign drawings, monitoring tenant construction activities, review Tenant project reports and lease exhibits, work with Building Departments, Utility Companies & City Planning Departments as well as bidding responsibility and hiring contractors. Successful candidate must be familiar with architectural & structural building systems and be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Project. Field experience is a plus.

Signage related responsibilities include a thorough understanding of the entitlement process as it relates to sign criteria approvals. This position, in addition to coordinating Tenant requirements, will be charged with writing and processing all site related signage criteria for City approvals as well as bidding and contracting for sign construction and installation. Additionally, this position will work closely with Lewis Leasing Managers to coordinate the allocation of sign panels to major tenants and the reimbursements for same.

Additional qualifications include:

•5+ years of experience in retail construction as a Project Manager or Designer/Planner.

•Solid knowledge of design & construction processes, procedures, & scheduling.
