We have immediate openings for career-minded individuals for the following positions: Commercial Drivers Our fleet of Mixers, Transfers, Bottom Hoppers and Pneumatic Trailers is the largest and best-maintained on the Central Coast. If you are an experienced professional driver with a good DMV record, effective communication skills and are customer-service and safety oriented, consider joining our team of great people who drive with pride for Union Asphalt. Laborers and Operators Our Construction Division is growing to meet the Central CoastÕs increasing demands for new and improved roadway transportation systems. We need laborers and heavy equipment operators who want to join our team of expert road builders. We are a non-union, prevailing wage organization focused on training and developing hard-working individuals who want to learn all facets of heavy road construction. A safe work practices mentality in a team environment is a must for both laborers and heavy equipment operators. Laborers will clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, operate power tools, flag, etc. Previous experience in a road construction environment is desired, but not mandatory. Operators will run pavers, rollers, graders, tractors, backhoes, front end loaders, etc. You will need a minimum of one year experience operating heavy equipment, a basic understanding of grading plans and staking, and a valid California Drivers License and good driving record. Northern Aggregate/AC Operations Manager Responsibilities include managing all aspects of crushed rock and asphalt concrete processing/manufacturing facilities, mining operations in both a drill and blast quarry and sand and gravel deposit. Other responsibilities include promoting the Company Safety Program and training plant personnel. Requirements: BS Degree in Engineering preferred; minimum five years experience in construction materials, mining or plant operations; good knowledge of rock crushing, screening, mining, AC plant production and heavy equipment operations; strong communication skills and leadership abilities. Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Safety Director Responsibilities include developing and administering a first class safety and accident prevention program in compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations. You will work closely with existing safety and operations management to develop and implement safety and performance metrics and training programs. Requirements: BS Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or equivalent preferred; minimum five years experience in construction, industrial or mining-related industries; strong communication, training and leadership capabilities.
