Mechanic, Field Service
Maintains and repairs the most complex heavy rental equipment and vehicles at assigned company and customer locations as necessary. Ensures that equipment and vehicles operate effectively, efficiently and safely.
Maintains and repairs of a variety of complex rental equipment, tools, and vehicles involving mechanical, hydraulics, and diesel, pneumatic and electrical systems.
Service is primarily performed at customer locations.
Determines parts needs and order parts.
Maintains a safe work area, obeys safety rules and ensures safety decals are properly displayed.
Ensures compliance with DOT vehicle maintenance standards and company policies.
Correctly utilizes Work Order computer system.
Assists in maintaining an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.
Keeps current on all applicable rental equipment features and applications.
May assist in familiarizing and training customer on equipment and vehicles.
Demonstrates orientation toward excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications and interactions in a cooperative, positive and professional manner.
Implements, sustains and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations and customer service.
Requirements:
Minimum three years experience in mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical repairs involving more complex equipment, tools, and vehicles.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
Mastery of mechanical and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and successfully repair the equipment.
Education Requirements: High school degree or equivalent.
Training:
Completes all safety training as well as demonstrate effective safety practices.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Training through manufacturer training courses a plus.
Licenses/Certification: Valid State driver's license. CDL may be required.
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch, and kneel. May stand for long periods of time, work in unprotected weather elements, wear steel-toed shoes and other required protective equipment, enter and exit vehicle appointed to drive.
