Mapping Surveyor

Job Summary:
The Mapping Surveyor will lead a team of mapping specialists and writers in developing property descriptions and verifying property plat maps and sizes. Must be able to research property dimensions and have ability to validate sizes against parcel numbers on vacant land throughout the United States. Be able to calculate mapmaking information from field notes, draw and verify accuracy of graphical maps.
REQUIREMENTS
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Check all layers of maps in order to ensure accuracy and identify errors.
* Match mapping and identify any areas missing from photographs.
* Produce and update overlay maps in order to show information boundaries, water locations, and graphic features on various base maps and/or at different scales.
* Identify and compile database information in order to create maps in response to requests.
* Research resources such as survey maps and legal descriptions in order to verify property lines and to obtain information needed for mapping.
*Manage a team of 6-8 employees and meet department deadlines

Requirements:
* 2-3 years of experience in Map Reading and Mapping Programs
* 1-2 years management experience and ability to multi-task
* Must have a 4 yr. college degree
* Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Experience in Microsoft Suite of Applications including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
* Ability to prepare complex spreadsheets
