Job Captain
Important Tasks:
Meets with the client and the project manager on a regular basis to develop the program and design criteria for each project, and to present and review the design process and products.
Assists project management staff in governmental reviews and approvals.
Communicates to the client the design process and product development in an accurate and attractive manner to ensure and enhance client commitment and approval.
Develops zoning ordinance design criteria that comply with governmental regulations noting any variances that may be required.
Assembles current, necessary and available data to investigate the proposed site in terms of size, topography, vegetation, water, solar, compass and wind orientation, utilities, drainage patterns, easements, vistas, adjoining property, noise sources, soils, flood plain, transportation, access and expansion.
Analyzes site for physical constraints and opportunities.
Analyzes and identifies site for suitability to defined program and design criteria.
Analyzes interior building functions, their interrelationships and their relation to overall building and site configurations.
Develops schematic alternatives that demonstrate solutions to the project program and architectural criteria.
Prepares or directs the preparation of necessary materials to graphically illustrate and document design proposals.
Maintains responsibility for suitability of materials, details, functional layout and buildability for each assigned project.
Coordinate with other disciplines and consult.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture is and architectural registration is preferred plus a minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of experience in a directly related field with design/build and AutoCAD experience preferred. Must have thorough knowledge in architectural practice and construction. Strong skills in the areas of client contact, graphic and verbal presentations, programming development and ability to develop conceptual design alternatives.
