Homebuilding, Estimator - Purchaser VA, MD, DC, DE

Leading executive search firm specializing in residential construction placements has been retained by a top five national homebuilder to find an Estimator - Purchaser in Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC & Delaware

Experience in any of the following areas: Single-family, Townhouse, Condominium, or Multifamily. Club house, community center, pool, and light commercial a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will possess the following experience:

·Minimum 3 years experience within the homebuilding industry with concentration in Estimating, Purchasing or Contracts

·Review Project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate


·Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work

·Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current information on price from supplies


·Review Design option and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality or availability of materials

·Prepare bid inquiries, including those of a more technical and specialized nature, negotiate and award contacts; administer change orders

·Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities

·Participative management type - advocates team concept.

·Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner
