Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator
Florida Rock Industries' Springfield Quarry is looking for 2 Heavy Mobile Equipment Operators to operate a front-end loader and haul truck.
Key Responsibilities :
Lifts and/or transports materials to and from storage or processing areas, for feeding of conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and loading trucks and/or rail cars.
Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Ensures efficient and safe component operation.
Additional responsibilities are covered in the Task Training Handbook.
Replaces or assists other workers as needed.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the plant manager or supervisor.

Education:
High school or equivalent preferred.
Adds and subtracts two-digit numbers and knows basic units of measurements.
Reads operators manuals, and has ability to write in full sentences.
Must be able to write and speak English.
Other:
Driver’s license required.
Performs repetitive work on a continuous basis.
Performs a variety of tasks requiring precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, or standards.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
Must deal effectively with people and work in stressful situations.
Applies common sense to deal with concrete problems and follows detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or sketched form.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to extend hands and arms in all directions, holding, grasping, turning objects using hands; picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers; perceiving size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects through contact with skin, primarily fingers. Involves climbing on ladders.
Must be able to see well enough to perceive the nature of objects by use of the eyes; consider acuity far, acuity near, depth perception, field of vision, accommodation, etc.
Must be able to hear in order to use a two-way radio, detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions.
Ability to swim in dredging operations.
Must take and pass drug test.
Must be able to work in a heavy industrial production environment, exposed to extreme weather elements, noise, vibrations, dust, and temperature extremes. Sitting for prolonged periods.
Must be able to wear all required personal protection equipment (ppe) to perform required tasks.
Must be able to perform heavy work and heavy lifting, with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and infrequent lifting of up to 100 pounds.
