The J. F. Ahern Co., a major mechanical and fire protection contractor, has an excellent opportunity for an Estimator within our expanding Plumbing Department located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The functions of the job include estimating design build and plan spec projects. Responsibilities include identifying labor, material and schedule requirements for each estimate, collecting and analyzing job/bid information, computing costs, presenting and finalizing estimates, and utilizing QuickPen software for estimating projects and AutoCAD software for the layout of plumbing systems.J. REQUIREMENTS
Estimating or design experience, strong math skills and the ability to read blueprints is a must. Familiarity with QuickPen (or similar computerized estimating software) and AutoCAD is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or related field is a plus.
