Construction Manager (Los Angeles or Irvine)

Malcolm Pirnie, Inc is seeking a Construction Manager for our Los Angeles or Irvine office. This person will have direct responsibility over project teams involved in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants. The position will be responsible for managing construction projects, coordinating field activities and inspectors, and coordinating construction phase services and design services during construction with design personnel and clients. Specific responsibilities include:
reviewing and approving pay requests
managing and administering the construction contracts
processing and reviewing submittals
coordinating field activities and inspectors
processing, reviewing and answering Requests For Information
verifying, evaluating and determining the validity of claims and change orders
preparing, negotiating and analyzing change orders and change order requests
coordinating with design personnel, the client and the contractor
attending and presiding over regularly scheduled progress meetings, monitoring construction progress and schedules and attending various coordination and design change meetings with the Owner and Contractor
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in construction management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work on multi-player teams that would include internal staff, client staff, and subcontractors.
Experience with pay requests, construction contracts, submittals, requests for information, claims, and change orders required.
B.S. degree in engineering.
Experience with water and wastewater treatment plant construction desired.
CA P.E. a plus or CCM certification a plus.
