Full Steam Marketing & Design is a full service marketing and design firm. In addition to print, video, DVD, and radio work, Full Steam offers web hosting and development. Full Steam is committed to staying on the cutting edge of web development.

We are looking for a Web Application Developer to build and maintain our new and current clients’ websites, as well as several in-house web applications. We build most of our websites with PowerNetTools, a custom content management system(CMS) built using Ruby on Rails.

Duties:
Building out new features for our CMS, PowerNetTools.
Taking web projects from estimation through to deployment.
Maintaining sites and in-house web applications that are currently live.
Although your primary role will be web development, you will have the opportunity to learn about design, audio recording and production, video production and DVD production while working at Full Steam.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
2+ years of web development experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP or Ruby on RailsExperience with subversion or another versioning system.
Experience building database-backed web applications.
Excellent written/verbal communications skills.
Sense of humor (bonus points if you can quote Space Ghost C2C)
Ability to navigate complex real-time 3D environments.

Preferred:
Experience creating content management systems or websites with administrative back-ends.
Experience developing with Ruby on Rails
Experience setting up development, staging and production environments (LAMP or Ruby on Rails).
Experience using CSS and HTML to create valid table-less layouts with complete separation of style and content.
Familiar with the agile development process.
Experience with Ajax (we use the prototype and script.aculo.us libraries)
