SPIE – The International Society for Optical Engineering seeks a Public Relations Manager with proven experience to develop and implement strategies to champion our organization, and the field of Optics & Photonics. The PR Manager will be responsible for increasing the visibility and quality of worldwide coverage in external media including trade press, other magazines, web sites and local media of all types. The manager will contribute to, and oversee, the development and distribution of press release kits, newsletters, application stories, announcements and white papers, along with coordination of press centers at our events.

This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, a proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines with the utmost integrity and ethics, and in meeting those deadlines while adhering to disclosure guidelines pertaining to confidentiality. A BS/BA degree in Journalism, Communications or Marketing, and 7+ years of media/public relations experience in a corporate setting or within a Public Relations Agency are required.  International experience and press relationships or work experience within the scientific community are both preferred.
