Gulf South Accounts Executive
Gulf South Medical Supply (“The Elder Care Business”)Gulf South is a leading distributor and marketer of medical supplies, equipment, and billing services to providers of elder care services in all 50 states. Founded in 1982 with roots in medical supply distribution dating to 1969, Gulf South was acquired by PSS World Medical in 1998.
The Elder Care Business serves the full continuum of health care providers in the elder care industry, including skilled nursing facilities, home care, hospice, and assisted living. Gulf South has strategically located service centers throughout the United States and a team of over 150 sales representatives. Gulf South is focused on providing quality products at lower prices and customer-focused services designed to increase supply chain effectiveness while reducing customer procurement costs.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Gulf South Medical Supply Account Executives are directly responsible for profitable sales growth and professional development of their territories measured by the attainment of their monthly sales and gross profit quotas and the overall satisfaction of their customers. In addition, all Account Executives at Gulf South are required to provide business solutions to their customers that offer a total cost reduction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sales
· Maintain and exceed quarterly and yearly sales and gross profit quotas.
· Complete all reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
· Make a minimum of 20 sales calls per week.
· Provide quarterly business reviews to top customers within territory.
· Increase account penetration on a regular basis.Financial
· Attain monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, gross profit and sales expense forecast.
· Attain customer net profit contribution goals.
· Monitor low gross profit margin items (under 17%) on a monthly basis.Account Receivables
· Review A/R with field support on monthly basis.
· Follow through with customers on aging issues.Miscellaneous
· Must maintain a good attendance record.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Support national account programs when necessary.
· Assist accounts receivable department with the collection of outstanding customer balances when necessary.
· Perform any other tasks as assigned.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee subject to a typical office environment and is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.INTERACTIONS:This person will interact with all members of long term care facilites' staff (including but not limited to the nursing home administrator, receptionist and director of nursing), all local branch employees, field support employees, and manufacturer representatives.
REQUIREMENTS
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:High School Degree or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in business preferred or extensive job related experience. Minimum two years proven sales experience, preferably in the medical distribution industry. Ability to travel within territory.
PREFERRED OFFICE/MACHINE EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE:Must be capable with personal computer. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and fax machines.APTITUDES PREFERRED:Excellent grammar, verbal and writing skills. Above average communication and presentation skills. High energy level, motivated, comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day to day activities. Good planning and organization skills.
