Distributution Center Industrial Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
A.Purpose and Scope
Oversees all aspects of the Distribution Center’s production processes, including labor planning, proper utilization of equipment and manpower. Key responsibilities include labor planning , analyses, reporting, quality control and implementation of standards to increase employee safety, operational efficiencies, standards of quality, productivity and profitability.
B.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
§Enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
§Audits, analyzes and reports on individual and department performance and production against established standards and metrics
§Recommends and Optimizes facility layout for increased efficency and capacity utilization.
§Project manager for all DC initiatives
§Develops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency.
§Responsible for ensuring that all quality policies and standards are established, maintained and documented.
§Assists in identifying industry metrics and setting company standards
§Plans and establishes manpower and production schedules.
§Manages the planning and establishment of production schedules, monitoring of materials inventories, tracking of progress of production, and reviewing of factors that affect production schedules.
§Responsible for developing and implementing performance and production goals and measurements.
§Works closely with members of the production and warehouse teams to create individual and department goals, which are realistic, measurable and attainable.
§Recommends and implements training for line and supervisory staff.
§Ensures all lines are properly set-up and that materials are in position for prompt start up at the beginning of each shift.
§Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
§Revises schedules according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers.
§Uses daily labor reports to analyes labor costs within prescribed budget.
§Responsible for managing cost in accordance to budgetary needs.
REQUIREMENTS

A.Qualifications
§Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management or equivalent practical experience; with 6-8 years directly related production, manufacturing or operations experience
§Strong Excel and other MS Office skills
§Detailed analytical skills
§Strong organizational, verbal and presentation skills
§Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
§Strong attention to detail in regard to deadline management
§Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently yet able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
§Ability to be a self-starter, prioritize workloads, and multi task.
§Ability to work overtime when needed to meet production

C. Supervisory Experience
At least 3 years of management experience required
D. Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the essential duties of this portion, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods of time, use hands, reach with hands and arms and talk or listen. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a moderate business office level. May be required to lift at least 30 lbs.
