Business Analyst I

Summary/Position Objectives:
Responsible for the maintenance of business application systems. Analyzes business needs and requirements for the maintenance of business application systems. Gathers information, analyzes work Issues, and implements configuration solutions to resolve Issues and meet the business needs. This position provides support to the Business Application Management Business Analyst II and III’s in terms of business application analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Works with other Business Application Management business analysts to evaluate business requirements for system enhancements as required by SAI business, and/or contractual requirements. This includes performing a thorough analysis to determine whether business application system configuration and/or operational procedure changes offer the “best choice” solution.
Participate in new business application system implementations and maintenance activities, including configuration and documentation of all system files and options.
Responsible for executing detailed test plans to ensure smooth production implementation.
Coordinates with operational staff to gather test data necessary for test execution. Reviews test results with operational staff to ensure they meet user approval and obtain sign-off prior to implementing changes to production.
Works with Business Application Management business analysts to test and implement new business application system releases
Implement efficiencies and configuration changes that will optimize the business application system configurations.
Document all system builds and changes.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of healthcare business application systems is required.
Experience in implementing and maintaining business application systems or products.
Experience with core software applications, including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience in business application system implementation, support, administration, and business application user training required. One (1) – three (3) years business application systems related work experience, or experience equal to the education requirement, two years of which must be in applications system support are necessary. Training in business application systems analysis and design is desirable.
