Wetlands Ecologist

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in conducting wetland delineations and preparing a variety of environmental documents and permits related to the following: Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, and Section 1600 of the CA Dept of Fish and Game Code.The position will require the following capabilities and/or experience:
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct and/or lead wetland delineations as well as prepare a variety of environmental reports and permits, therefore requiring technical field experience in the fields of wetland ecology, botany, and soil science.
Potential tasks would include:

Inventory, identification and analysis of vegetation and wetlands, preparation of a variety of technical environmental reports; preparation of habitat occurrence maps; analysis of impacts of projects to wetlands on biotic resources; development of mitigation and monitoring plans, and experience with project permitting.
As an interdisciplinary team member, the biologist will provide expertise on vegetation and wetlands in the development and review of project alternatives and coordinate with engineering counterparts to implement mitigation/compensation measures.




job Requirements



A masters or a bachelor’s degree in Biology or related natural environment field and proven knowledge of Federal and State legislation, policies and procedures relating to the natural environmental.
Experience requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience.
