Assist library patrons locating library materials and checking them out
Process interlibrary loan materials requested
Assist in answering in-coming calls, direct them to the proper staff or take messages
Sort, open and distribute mail to appropriate staff
Check-in all library materials returned and shelve orderly and neatly
Type labels for books and journals titles with emphasis on special processing instructions
Enter Data into the circulation and cybertools computer systems
Calculate monthly circulation statistics and type report
Accurate file card catalog cards
Compare interlibrary loan requests against library’s holdings and pull all those the library owns for patrons to photocopy
Print overdue notices and search all book and journal shelves before mailing out overdue notices
Accurately type mailing labels for overdue notices, and enter overdue message into the patron’s record in the computer
Calculate, type and perform other necessary tasks to complete the assigned project
Assist in checking all areas and rooms of the library for patrons, courteously inform them that the library is closing
Lock all rooms and auditorium; restock copiers and turn off all equipment
Record circulation statistics and enter into record notebooks
Turn off library lights and lock all library doors
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Work up to 20 hrs per week. Afternoons and evenings to 8:30 pm plus Saturday’s 9 am – 4 pm. Currently enrolled in an accredited college, community college, or business college or as a junior or senior in High School. Library experience preferred. Ability to alphabetize and basic clerical skills preferred. Good verbal and written English communication skills required.
