Software Engineer

Software Engineer Our client is a cutting edge Biotechnology / Genetics Research Firm.

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer. In this position, the responsibilities are designing and building software applications for molecular/genomic sciences and instrument control systems, while actively solving project/function-related problems in his/her specialty with minimal guidance. Candidates will apply his/her knowledge and experience to impact project/function direction, while recognizing and communicating promising ideas. Candidates will also create requirement and design documents and translate those designs into software solutions, along with implementing modular solutions as part of a larger system architecture and utilize group style standards and common infrastructure APIs. Other duties & functions may be assigned to this position as needed.All candidates for this position will need to possess a B.S. in Computer Sciences, Bioinformatics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or related discipline and 3 to 5 years industry experience in software development or an M.S. in those disciplines with 2 to 3 years industry experience.

Also, candidates must possess software implementation experience in most of the following areas:
•C, Java (using Sun's JDK), combining Java and C code implementations
•Image processing and numerical analysis algorithm development
•Signal processing concepts
•Linux, other UNIX flavors
•Parallel computing design concepts
•Distributed message passing architectures and concepts
•Networking concepts (e.g. TCP/IP, sockets, web protocols, web server implementations)
