Senior Finance Manager
Santa Ana, California
This position is responsible for leading and supporting the entire Santa Ana plant facility in the area of Finance. Partners with Operations Management to meet its business objectives, including strategic and annual operating financial planning, forecasting,, and financial and operational analysis. This position works closely with Operations Management to identify, analyze, communicate and resolve financial issues that impact financial and operational performance. Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies to ensure complete and accurate financial results for manufacturing operations including overseeing the day-to-day accounting and month-end close process; maintains or oversees the maintenance of accounts and records in such areas as product standards, margins, and OPC-related spending. Manages the performance and development of employees within Finance.
Responsibilities: Serves as a member of the plant management team. Advises peers and other members of management on Finance strategies and procedures.
Maintains a thorough understanding of business functions and the business environment, as well as an in-depth understanding of Finance functions.
Serves as a partner to customers regarding trends and industry directions in the areas of Finance.
Leads the annual planning process. Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance requirements.
Manages budgets (department/team/project), cost estimates, service level targets, and project deadlines.
Responsible for all aspects of cost accounting:
o Plans and performs annual inventories and monthly invetory checks.
o Establishes and maintains standard costs.
o Analyzes and reports production variances.
o Establishes and maintains overhead rates.
Provides system expertise in the support of manufacturing operations including product costing, work center setup, inventory control, and purchasing.
Directs departmental activities, including the accurate, timely compilation and analysis of financial information to prepare reports, makes general ledger entries and reviews accuracy of journal entries.
Ensures all manufacturing-related balance sheet accounts are reconciled properly, show true financial performance and are reviewed by management.
Ensures compliance with both internal finance policy and US GAAP.
Provides financial analysis and decision support to manufacturing on operational performance and operational investments.
Supports day-to-day requests to the financial group both internal and external reports.
Oversees payroll processing function.
Manages the performance and development of employees.within the Finance functions.
Will work closely with the functional management of other Cardiac Surgery sites and the Sr. Staff of Cardiac Surgery.
Dotted line relationship with IT:
Coordinates with IT to develop strategies, policies, and objectives related to existing and new technologies at the Santa Ana plant facility, which enhance applications by supporting corporate and worldwide business strategies.
Collaborates with IT to identify solutions to systems issues and determines the most suitable method of deployment.
Provides local oversight to project teams.
Provides focus and leadership to project manager.
Confers with the project manager on priorities, methods, and issues.
Establishes criteria for project evaluation.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
8-10 years Finance experience.
5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing accounting role.
4-5 years management/supervisory experience of 5-10 professionals.
4-5 years of project leadership experience.
Experience developing and maintaining systematic based financial models to simplify reporting and financial and operational analysis.
Extensive cost accounting and inventory management experience.
Experience in implementing and utilizing cost accounting functions within major ERP systems.
