Research Associate II- Cellular Immunology

The Department of General & Ocological Surgery is seeking a research associate to conduct experiments in cellular immunology in a team environment. The work will consist of conducting immuno assays in support of a vaccine project utilizing synthetic peptides and recombinant pox-viruses.

The pathogen under study is human cytomegalovirus, and the preferred candidate will have had experience working with human pathogens such as herpes virus and/or vaccinia and a strong motivation and willingness to work with mice.

The project is to evaluate the immune response to tumor associated antigen and generation of MVA vaccine expressing tumor antigen.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have experience in cellular immunology including cytotoxicity assays utilizing chromium release, immunomagnetic separation, and flow cytometry analysis.

Work with radioactivity and Class A pathogens will be required for this position as well as work to be conducted after hours and on occasional weekends as required by the experimental protocols.
