Product Manager
Santa Rosa, California
To develop overall marketing strategies for next generation product line/s with responsibility for strategic product planning, product launch execution, product life extension and on-going market and product information.
Responsibilities: •Establish strategic direction for product line to ensure alignment with business conditions, customer needs, and geography constraints. Defining the strategic direction includes determining launch locations, pricing strategy, positioning strategy, addressing supply and logistics issues, and utilizing competitive information to modify the strategic direction if needed.
•Research and understand key drivers in strategic markets.
•Identify and drive opportunities for future sales and strategies against competitors.
•Direct, develop and implement product and communication launch plans and sales forecasts in coordination with sales and geographic based marketing managers, R&D, clinical, regulatory and supply chain staff.
•Determine and execute appropriate market research needed and interact with physicians, clinicians, sales force, and R & D staff regarding new products and product enhancements. Attend relevant scientific and technical meetings and conferences.
•Lead in the development of programs to educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and Medtronic staff (especially sales) on the use of our product.
Develop effective sales and organizational training materials to convey product attributes and benefits.
•Provide direction and input to R&D Engineer team to ensure competitive analysis and testing meets the information needs of the marketing and addresses strategic concerns.
•Develop, implement and monitor advertising and promotional activities.
•Participate in project development decisions for future product lines.
•Provide regular feedback to management regarding project status, competitive issues, and internal/external issues that may impact the attainment of project completion dates.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: •BA plus 6 years in sales/marketing including 2-3 years in product marketing, OR
•MBA plus 4 years in sales/marketing including 2-3 years in product marketing.
•Clinical/technical understanding of vascular medical device/technology.
•Demonstrated ability to understand global markets.
•Ability to determine and communicate future product requirements to product planning, development, and management
•Analytical skills including understanding of business economics and financial measures.
•Strong interpersonal skills-ability to work cooperatively in a matrix environment.
•Global marketing experience.
