Principal Research Scientist

Battelle's System's Analysis & Engineering Maritime Group provides Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosives (CBRNE), AT/FP, Physical Security, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Management related technical, operational, and program acquisition management support services to U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard clients world-wide.
We are currently seeking an Exercise Analyst in Washington, DC and/or Norfolk/Hampton Roads, VA and San Diego for support to Commander, Navy Installation Command (CNIC) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection and Installation Protection programs. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401k, pension plan, and tuition reimbursement will be provided. Relocation support is not available and a security clearance is required.
Candidate selected will assist Exercise Planners with CNIC exercise development and execution. This includes, development of relevant and related documentation, evaluation and analysis of exercise results and deriving and promulgating lessons learned. Position requires interface and liaison with requirements branch to feed Joint Capability Integrated Development System (JCIDS) process. Position will be CNIC POC for coordinating with Naval Warfare Development Command Lessons Learned Branch.
Selected candidate must have the following qualifications:
Solid foundation in CBRNE, Physical Security, Law Enforcement, AT/FP and Emergency Management (EM).
Experience developing exercise related documentation, including requirements, conditions and standards, metrics, NMETLs, SOPs, doctrine, and training plans.
Experience planning, conducting, or observing/evaluating multi-service and interagency exercises.
BA/BS degree and 10 years of military related experience with 3 years of specific exercise, readiness, or training experience at the officer level.
