Packaging Technician

The Packaging Technician's primary objective is to ensure that a quality packaged IP is delivered on time for shipments, while following cGMP's and procedures. Other responsibilities will include SOP writing and revisions, scheduling both projects and temporary staff, training other personnel, and supervising processing rooms staffed with temporary and or Sanofi employees. Incumbent must be signed off on 3 of the following areas within 6 months of hire: Label printing and inspection, label and assembly, carding, blistering, label application, and ClinPro labeling system.Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Packaging Leader I, Sanofi and Temporary staff while performing packaging task. 2. Assist in the coordination and assignment of temporary staff to packaging operations and work with the packaging supervisor on daily scheduling.
3. Sign and date batch records as the responsible person for the supplies prepared for clinical investigation and verify the work of other production staff members.
4. Reconcile and transfer finished IP product to inventory.
5. Request label identification cards from the Compliance Specialist and verify for accuracy.
6. Review completed batch records for accuracy and completion before handing off to the batch record review team.
7. Assist in dispensing or counting materials from the warehouse inventory. Assist with warehouse functions as needed. (Must be signed off by warehouse staff)
8. Write and revise SOPs pertaining to GMP packaging operations.
9. Assist in training the temporary staff on SOPs and GMPs.
10. Assist in giving packaging numbers to the Liaison Team, in reference to their protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent is required. The person must have at least three years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. The person is required to follow complex written and verbal instructions. Word processing and spreadsheet programs, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel are desirable. Familiarity with randomization schemes, databases and pharmacy label and inventory systems is a plus. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and/or packaging operations is also a plus. The person must be detailed oriented, able to work independently and also in a team environment. The person must have the ability to read, especially small and repetitive text patterns and the ability to follow numeric sequences and perform accurate counting. The person must be capable of performing repetitive motions and lifting small to medium sized loads of 30 to 50 pounds.
