Enterprise Advisory Services, Inc. (EASI) is seeking a Nutritional Biochemist in the Nutritional Biochemistry Laboratory (NBL) located in the Cellular and Biomedical Section of the NASA JSC Human Adaptations and Countermeasures Office (HACO).

The primary responsibility for this position is to process biological (primarily human) samples and implement multiple existing and new analytical methods for NBL projects using complex laboratory instrumentation and databases; manage and interpret data, conduct statistical analyses, prepare graphical representations of results; evaluate and develop hardware and methods to address complex operational and experimental protocols; prepare and present scientific data and reports for NASA, local and national meetings; document procedures and quality-control methods in conformance with ISO-9000 requirements; provide technical support and/or act as a study/project coordinator for major NBL protocols; develop new research protocols; and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training/Experience:This position requires an Associates degree + 8 years experience, Bachelor’s + 6 years or a M.S degree with 4 years of experience or equivalent Nutrition, Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry or related field.
Must have exceptional laboratory skills.
Must have excellent oral communication, technical writing and data interpretation skills.
Previous experience with at least some of these laboratory techniques (HPLC, HPLC with electrochemical detection, ELISA, ICP/MS, LC/MS, RIA) is required.
Must be able to apply standard techniques on routine projects and act as an independent contributor to larger projects.
Analytical methods development skills and human biological sample processing experience is highly desirable.
Must be able to evaluate, select, and apply analytical skills to laboratory problems.
Must be detailed oriented and capable of carrying a project to completion.
Skills and experience coordinating complex study protocols are highly desirable.
Skills in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
