Lab Tech IV - QC

The primary purpose of this position is to perform advanced laboratory procedures independently for the testing of veterinary biologicals according to strict government and company imposed guidelines. This position is responsible for testing of viral strains in tissue culture, ELISA testing and other tests related to 9 CFR release of vaccines. Must be able to develop, evaluate and perform testing activities independently. May be involved in the training of lower level technicians. Development and improvement activities (interdepartmental activities) are move involved and are completed independently.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field with a minimum of five years relevant work experience including a thorough knowledge of procedures, paperwork, and specific laboratory testing experience. Proficiency with advanced laboratory techniques and procedures related to 9 CFR testing of veterinary biologicals is required. Must have the ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions. Excellent math and writing skills required. Effective leadership skills required. Must have the ability to independently prepare written reports for submission to USDA and other agencies. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to work on a team with people from inside QC as well as Production and R & D.
