Infection Control Nurse

My name is Cyndi Carlson, I am a Recruiter at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center here in Bullhead City AZ.

Our location sits right on the Colorado River in a breathtaking warm southwestern setting...cactus and howling coyotes! We are located about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Las Vegas, 3 hours from Phoenix and you can be on the beach in San Diego in 4 hrs!

Right across the River, just minutes away is Laughlin, NV a lively town with Casinos such as: Golden Nuggett, Harrahs, Flamingo, Pioneer etc. You can enjoy gambling, shows, dining and many events.

There is no state tax in Nevada, by the way.

Our hospital has 123 beds, 560 employees and growing. We are part of a systems hospital with 75 hospitals in 22 states.

REQUIREMENTS
Infection Control Nurse

The Infection Control Nurse provides information and overall leadership of infection control programs including surveillance and employee in-service on infection control. Keeping abreast of new information, implementing new programs, updating the policy and procedure manual, and providing appropriate data to the Infection Control Committee.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Two years or more experience in nursing or microbiology preferred. Knowledge of infectious diseases, routes of transmission and the common practices of containment. Formal training by Association for Practitioner in Infection Control or equivalent is preferred.

Must be able to speak, hear, read and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

License/Education/Certification: Bachelors Degree in Science preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing or certification in a related field, i.e., Microbiology and/or Medical Technology. Must have CPR Certification.

•Maintain and develop infection control skills through participation in education programs.
•Flexible in meeting the needs of the patient, employee, and/or facility.
•Maintains open line of communication with all departments.
•Willingly accepts any assigned duties.
•Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
•Demonstrates well-defined organizational and time management skills.
•Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial, medical and employment status of patients and employees of WARMC.
•Applies concepts of customer relations and advocacy.
•Promotes positive relationships.
•Follows and enforces accepted safety practices for patients and warmc by observing safety guidelines and safe work practices.
•Participates in safety instruction programs.
•Reports hazards and initiates appropriate action.
