Healthcare Researcher

Status: Open Department: Healthcare Informatics Purpose: Provides research using applied research design, statistical methods, data analysis techniques and statistical software.

Responsibilities:
Determines research requirements by consulting with internal and external customers. Investigates research questions and hypotheses using large-scale public, private and SCAN archival data sets. Creates and administers data collection tools as needed (e.g., sample survey, key informant survey, needs assessments). Meets end-user needs, project objectives by identifying available resources and developing applied research and health care evaluation designs. Satisfies customer research questions and test hypotheses by selecting and applying statistical methods and data analysis techniques. Verifies the appropriateness of statistical models and modifies analyses when appropriate. Presents findings to customers by interpreting results of data analyses and communicating clearly to customers who are not experts in research and statistics. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements



Excellent SAS skills; MS Access and SQL programming experience required Experience in using large-scale public data sets preferred Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:
MS or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics or other related field
