CH2M HILL's Virginia Beach, Virginia office is growing and we are currently looking for an Environmental Chemist to join our Environmental Services team. In this exciting role you will be given the opportunity to apply your 2 plus years of laboratory or consulting experience (utilizing SW846 and CLP methods) on a variety of projects. Typical tasks would include developing laboratory and data validation scopes of work, preparing quality assurance plans, work plans, field sampling plans, data evaluation, and technical writing. All work will be performed in a manner consistent with CH2M HILL’s, and our client’s health and safety requirements. As an integral member of our team you will have the opportunity to excel within a team-oriented office environment.




job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a B.S. degree from a US accredited college or university, in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Chemistry.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have 2 years of professional experience.

Candidates with analytical laboratory experience utilizing SW846 or CLP methods would be preferred.

Candidate should be a versatile consultant that wants to work on a variety of different projects and has the ability to learn new skills quickly under the guidance of others.
Candidate should be able to interact with teams spread over multiple offices.

A strong emphasis on health and safety is required with some experience with behavior-based health & safety programs as a plus.

Good communication skills are required to communicate effectively with subcontractors, project team, project manager, and other stakeholders.

Candidates should possess the attributes to become a strong consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self starter that takes initiative and has a service mentality).
