Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Overseeing the day to day operation of the electroplating processes as operating within the Greenville facility such that conformance to the ETMS-PL-xxx standards is always maintained. This includes ensuring that all required quality control checks are performed, documented, and reviewed as appropriate.

Performing metallurgical and plating investigations including sample preparations, data acquisition, documentation, and report writing.

Carrying out project work related to chemical conservation, process improvements, and new process implementation.

May be responsible for providing advice and occasional on-site assistance to other bearing production facilities pertaining to electroplating issues.

Overseeing the preparation of sample bearings on the Greenville pilot line equipment. Must be able to perform all quality control checks to ensure parts produced are of acceptable quality.

Serving as the primary technical interface in all matters related to electroplating processes and products with other bearings group technical staff.
REQUIREMENTS
BS or graduate degree in Chemistry , Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

7 - 10 years of experience in an industrial plating environment preferred. Time spent in an R&D/laboratory environment would be a plus.

Experience with high-volume plating operations, including automated equipment processing.

Experience in all aspects of electroplating process control and process management.

Experience in new process start-up.

Experience in deposition of a variety of deposits onto a variety of substrates, including but not limited to nickel, copper, tin, lead tin, chrome, etc.

Be able to discuss electrochemistry on a fundamental basis as well as practical basis.

Background in chemical recovery systems. Understanding of waste-water treatment processes.

Must be able to perform other testing in support of customer requests or requirements - such as humidity chamber tests, corrosion tests, rust prevention evaluations, etc.

Must be able to interface with the production groups within Greenville such that good communication exists. Must be able to guage the impact of decisions in other production areas upon the plating department and the ultimate guality of the electroplated parts produced. This can include issues as the impact of a new coolant upon the ability of the degreaser to adequately clean parts prior to plating as an example.
