Chemical Technician III

Volt's valued client is looking for a Chemical Technician to perform analysis of materials produced at their facility. Tungsten Hexafluoride requires metals sampling, and gas phase sampling and analysis. Nanochem requires some testing the chemical technician can perform. Supplies used on the job must be tracked in order to keep them in stock. The Lab Manager is to be informed when an order needs to be placed. SPC data entry and quality tools use is recommended.


Requirements:

Experience and self-competence with GC and FTIR, and the ability to make decisions. This level also requires the ability to do wet chemistry tests, such as fluoride using ISE, KOH by titration, pH, and neutralizations. Computer literacy is required. Keeping current with instrumentation is part of the job.
Education Requirements: Must have some chemistry lab background. Some advanced chemistry courses are recommended.
Reporting: This individual reports directly to the Lab Manager, and works with other lab personnel as required. Moderate supervision is required. Some decisions are made without approval.
Safety Requirements: Safety is an integral part of the responsibility of all the analysts. They are to follow procedures in the manuals, attend the monthly safety meetings, make safety the first priority in all they do, and if they notice others not following safe practices, they should point it out, and inform supervision so it can be followed up.
