The Baltimore City Teaching Residency (BCTR) is a competitive initiative of the Baltimore City Public School System that recruits, selects and trains outstanding professionals and college graduates to become teachers in the schools that need them the most. We are looking for those individuals interested in teaching in all subject areas, especially middle and high school math and science. Selected candidates will become part of the 2007 Winter Cohort, charged to raise student achievement. Following an intensive, rigorous training institute, Residents will enter the classroom in February while taking classes to obtain their teaching certificate. Residents have the option to earn their Master’s degree at one of our partnering institutions. Residents receive a teacher’s salary, benefits, up to 75% subsidized tuition and more.
