Associate Project Manager, Maintenance Systems

Responsibilities:
The candidate will enable the Product Operations (PROP) and Corporate Facilities Services organization to attain business objectives through focus on effective utilization and integration of business systems for maintenance operations. He/she will develop, implement and administer reliable computerized maintenance management systems in order to achieve planned and predictable maintenance performance. The incumbent will assess existing maintenance business practices and business objectives to identify gaps and opportunities, as well as develop and implement the information systems roadmap to realize a seamless transition from EMPAC to SAP-PM. He/she will assist in the development and implementation of methods for initiating, planning, scheduling, executing, analyzing and optimizing maintenance work. The candidate will provide a structured, accurate and accessible method for managing maintenance management information in order to support effective and efficient maintenance execution. He/she will partner with key stakeholders to understand and meet the current and future maintenance management data requirements. The incumbent will be accountable for execution of the maintenance management strategy, which will include selection and implementation of new applications for maintenance management. He/she will be responsible for setting and achieving Maintenance Master Data alignment across Genentech sites. The candidate will partner with the Corporate Information Technology group to ensure alignment with the corporate IT architecture and develop the appropriate organizational changes and business processes to realize technology benefits. He/she will provide combined expertise in maintenance best practices, technology/applications and systems implementation. The incumbent will be instrumental in supporting a long-term vision of Maintenance Systems through effective implementation of business processes to support maintenance management and MRO spare parts logistics, including radio frequency technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
A B.S. in Computer Science, Business (Operations Management or Supply Chain Management), Industrial Engineering or Management Information Systems or equivalent. Process Excellence or related business improvement methodologies education/certification is preferred. A minimum of one year of consulting or business systems implementation experience is required. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maintenance/calibration/spare parts management discipline (Asset Maintenance, Distribution, Material Management, Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse Operations, transportation) is essential. Extensive knowledge of SAP ERP and Plant Maintenance, Warehouse Management systems and other related strategic logistics, radio frequency, RFID and warehousing tools is a must. GMP and Pharmaceutical or Process Industry experience is required. Systems support in a GMP environment with related expertise in Change Control and Validation practices is essential. Working knowledge of EMPAC and SAP-PM is desired. Experience in successfully coordinating logistics and cross-functional teams of business and technical resources is a must. Strong leadership, consulting and customer service skills are required. Experience in building Information Systems and IT Infrastructure with partners and vendors is essential. Experience with project management best practices, including software development and standard project management methodologies, is required. Experience implementing CMMS and CCMS is essential. Experience with EMPAC, Maximo and SAP is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong analytical skills with advanced MS Office applications knowledge are essential. The candidate must possess the ability to understand, and is sensitive to, concerns and issues of others. He/she must possess negotiation skills for constructive win/win solutions to complex problems. The candidate must possess a track record of timely high-quality achievement of deliverables. He/she must have the capability to ensure effective communication flow throughout the organization. SAP and related CMMS/CCMS and MRO parts logistics applications/technologies knowledge is essential.
