Monitors the focus and activities of departmental personnel.
Reviews departmental performance related issues.
Provides the appropriate instruction to staff in order to carry out novel or complex assignments.Develops strategic and tactical plans to accomplish departmental goals.
Provides direction to individual/multiple departmental teams.Assists in the management of departmental policy according to the current Design Control process.Represents departmental interests in all internal and external communication.
Designs and implements research protocols or projects. Exercises independent judgment to initiate, direct and execute moderate to highly complex projects.
Applies advanced analytical techniques to extend scientific theories in innovative research projects.
Develops statistical and theoretical models based on experimental observations.
Operates and maintains instrumentation for research and development applications; may instruct others in its use.
Effectively communicates and interacts with scientists, project leaders and management. Lends unique technical expertise in the analysis, application, and reporting of research projects.
Supplies technical leadership, training and direction to lower-level staff.
REQUIREMENTS
PhD with at least 7 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in any or all of the following: Hybridoma, Biochemistry, Infectious Diseases, Method Development, Molecular Biology, Organic Synthesis, Protein Chemistry, Technology Development.
