VP, Special Loans

Vice President, Special LoansThis position is responsible for maximizing the retention of specific special loans and the accurate servicing of ARM, Buydown, Balloon, Graduated Payment, and Step Rate loans in accordance with investor and State guidelines, as well as loan contracts. Key functions include managing Profit & Loss statement to improve profit margins, efficiency and productivity of the department; managing daily operations to ensure timely/accurate notification and processing of all aspects of special loans; and handling personnel responsibilities including hiring/training of staff. Other duties include developing budgets, enforcing policies/procedures, setting goals and meeting deadlines for the various state/federal regulations.Requirements:

BA degree in Finance, Business or other related field.

10+ years experience in mortgage/banking, insurance, real estate or other related environment consisting of the following:
3+ years supervisory experience directly coaching and evaluating staff issues.
2+ years experience running an income producing business.
4-6 years of direct experience in all facets of Special Loans Servicing department operations.

Knowledge of general loan servicing functions.

Expert knowledge of security instruments, including DOT, Notes and Riders.

Expert understanding of all special loan products including ARMS, Buydowns, GPMs Balloons, Second trust deeds, etc.

Ability to read and understand the information on title policies.

Expert understanding of state and investor requirements regarding special loans.

Strong presentation, negotiation and verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to motivate, evaluate, train, discipline and form assigned staff into a successful team.

Ability to set goals, develop budgets, analyze workflow to ensure it is cost efficient, maintain costs within approved budget guidelines, set staffing needs and meet deadlines.

Ability to work with others with varying degrees of understanding of the products/procedures and provide information and data in a manner that they will be able to understand and use.

PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes).
