Ensures all due diligence review and credit underwriting activities within CLD result in the purchase of immediately saleable loans. The Underwriting Manager authorizes credit authorities within CLD; monitors validity of decisions; reviews error reporting and intervenes with appropriate training and/or coaching support; monitors/evaluates credit exceptions made by staff underwriters or correspondents with delegated authorities to ensure that only authorized credit exceptions are granted; interfaces with CLD Credit Administration, CLD Secondary Marketing, GPM Loan Delivery and GPM Risk Management personnel to ensure CLD maintains specified standards for credit and pricing integrity.
Ensures CLD purchases loans only from approved correspondents and that those loans are immediately saleable in the secondary market according to guidelines specified for the selected loan product.
Manage supervisors and team leaders to ensure work efforts are organized and properly directed.Essential Skills
AA/BA college degree (field of study not specified).
A minimum of 10 years experience as a senior level underwriter, specifically in the areas of multi-state credit and collateral review.
A minimum of 5 years experience as a supervisor or equivalent experience that demonstrates an ability to delegate effectively and direct the work efforts of subordinate supervisors.
Demonstrate proficient use of standard computer software programs.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and productively with a minimum of supervision.
Spanish-speaking a plus.Job Requirements
