Title Assistant

Title Assistant Responsibilities Prepare commitments from title reports Proofread and transmit title policies and other pertinent papers
Provide general information to customers on company escrow services, procedures, and status of cases
Perform clerical duties such as filing, answering phone, logging in cases, typing forms, and correspondence
May maintain bookkeeping records
May assist with and conduct closings, as directed by the supervisor
Maintain follow-up necessary for completion of transactions and issuance of policy
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of the purpose and use of title insurance and of related services; comfortable with terminology and legal instruments involved in escrow transactions and in the insuring of title to real property
Ability to interpret title reports and prepare basic commitments
Experience in real estate closings and preparing settlement statements
Ability to compile and interpret information affecting status of title to real property
Ability to follow instructions and make mathematic computations to complete escrow transactions
Ability to perform tasks of limited complexity as guided by general company escrow procedures
Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office software and Internet Explorer
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in real estate, business, or related field
Experience in commercial real estate transactions
