Full Job Title: Systems Engineer 5, Network Technologies Skills Management Title Systems EngineeringJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: Systems Engineer will provide technical support and leadership in network communication systems (SE& IPT). Contribute to the definition of system architecture and perform technical analysis/evaluation of large military network communication systems. Evaluate, recommend and develop system requirements, architecture and alternatives for military wireless and wired networks. Provide inputs to proposal preparation, customer briefings, and internal team meetings/briefings. Apply knowledge of RF, wireless, satellite and advanced communications systems along with systems engineering process to derive a best valued solution that satisfy customer needs. Recommend and implement appropriate courses of action in solving technical problems. When applicable, coordinates and directs the technical efforts of other engineers on the team. Travel may be required to interface with customers and program related meetings, conferences, and briefings. Competencies Working knowledge of real time embedded development, C & C++. Experience with military communications systems and wireless and wired network protocols, and familiarity with network security concepts. Experience in the following technologies is highly desirable: JTRS, SCA, SDR, OOA/OOD, Internetworking technologies (routing, QoS, network management), mobile wireless technologies (TDMA, DSP algorithms, MAC/Link Protocols, Wireless LAN, etc.), DSP, CORBA, UML (especially using Rational Rose) and component based software. Project leadership, specification writing, systems architecture design experience, and knowledge of systems engineering processes, tools and techniques (CMM, IPPD, and etc.) are necessary. Familiarity with software development processes and tools usage is a definite plus. Typically requires about 18 years experience in an engineering classification related to network communications. Selected candidate will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a SECRET security clearance. Active Secret clearance is highly desirable.Notes: CS450046. The Boeing Company recently announced that their facility located in Anaheim, California, will be closed by 2010 and all jobs will be relocated with the majority moving to the Huntington Beach, California, facility. The majority of the employees will move between First Quarter 2007 and First Quarter 2008.
