Sr. Fund Accountant

The Sr. Fund Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the books and records of a Registered Investment Company. The position requires excellent communication skills and strong accounting skills. Candidate will routinely interact with the Portfolio Managers and Investment Professionals. The investment company accountant will be responsible for detailed general and sub ledger accounting for a hedge fund. Including but not limited to financial statement reporting, daily performance calculating, daily P&L calculating, reconciliation of prime broker statements, reporting trade breaks to the Portfolio Manager, cash reconciling and equity account reporting. Other responsibilities will include performing internal control functions, special projects and special tax analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
Related undergraduate degree and two years of industry or public accounting experience required. Experience with Bank Debt highly desired but not required. Candidate should have strong detail orientation, strong analytical skills, strong verbal/written communication skills and be very organized. Candidate is expected to have computer proficiency, especially in Excel. Experience with Wall Street Office preferred but not required. Candidate should be able to start early and have flexibility to work additional hours.
