Small Business Services Officer

REQUIREMENTS
The Small Business Services Officer is responsible for assisting front line staff to provide custom credit union products and services to business members with specific or special business needs.


SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.

2. Excellent and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.

3. Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, management, and outside contacts.

4. Excellent analytical skills.

5. Ability to change within working responsibilities be it internal, market, or regulatory driven.

6. Ability to work well independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

7. Effective leadership and negotiation skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

2. Vision (or corrected) to normal range

3. Ability to sit and/or stand for periods of up to two hours or more.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. B.A. in business, finance or related field or equivalent work or educational experience.

2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in small business or consumer lending. Financial institution experience preferred.

3. Flexibility in working situations, good communication and interpersonal skills.

4. With the following skills and experience, the Small Business Services Officer attains a Senior Small Business Services Officer designation:

a.One year of demonstrated commercial credit analysis and production at BECU.

b. Acts as an escalation contact point for complex business related questions and issues.

c. Has been granted a lending authority by the Chief Lending Officer or designee.

d. Actively promotes BECU through community involvement and/or industry related organizations.

e. Ability to coach and mentor other department staff members and member-facing staff.
