Senior Intersegment Systems Engineer 4 Skills Management Title
Full Job Title: Senior Intersegment Systems Engineer 4 Skills Management Title Comm Systems DesignJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: Independently develops solutions to complex technical problems such as top level system requirements flow down, functional decomposition, interface control and system architecture trades related to large-scale, space-based, intersegment communications, networks and sensors systems. Assignments will include supporting program SEIT IPT leader during concept exploration, concept development, risk reduction and preliminary design phases of the life cycle. Applicant will be expected to integrate communications network, surveillance, and identification/multi-sensor system architecture requirements such as capacity analysis, performance and link budgets, top level modeling and simulations of the intersegment system with other platform systems and platform sub-systems. This includes addressing factors such as doppler compensation, interference cancellation, beam forming, interoperability, and routing. Qualified candidate will be expected to support managing communications, networks and sensors requirements allocation documents, functional decomposition and analysis, segment and element level spec documentation, interface control documentation (specifically with interfaces between two or more segments or two o more elements within a segment), and verification planning. Potential assignments for lead positions during assembly, integration and test or technical management of suppliers. Should be able to integrate large-scale system level concepts of operations into the system architecture including functions, requirements and physical views. Candidate will identify needs for improving intersegment SE processes. Competencies Qualified candidate should have experience in some or all of the following: interface control documentation, communications and/or network system design and analysis, system analysis, end to end testing, intersegment compatibility testing, payload and/or ground operations, specification development, verification and validation, assembly, integration and test. Knowledge of intersegment communications and networking concepts and principles (e.g., modulation, coding, band width, information assurance, latency, jitter, quality of service, routing, frequency hopping, gateways). Candidate should have knowledge of producibility applied to manufacturing of communications, network and sensor systems or other large scale aerospace systems. Knowledge of systems engineering methods used by military customers including concept exploration, concept development studies, risk reduction, IMP/IMS, EVMS is preferred. Knowledge and experience with systems architecting and requirements management tools such as TcSE, SLATE and/or DOORS is preferable, but experience with other analysis tools such as MatLab, SPW, OpNet and ability to learn quickly is acceptable.
